Dr. Cynthia Lopez uses the two most advanced technologies to get rid of unwanted fat: VASER Lipo and ProLipo Plus. Depending on the patient's recovery objectives, patient's health status, location and amount of excess fat to be removed, Dr. Cynthia Lopez will decide whether one or both technologies maybe utilized for liposuction.
VASER Lipo® uses high-frequency sound waves to selectively dissolve fat tissue into a liquidy substance, while leaving other body tissues like blood vessels and nerves intact. Since only the fat is targeted and dissolved, the process is called Liposelection®. Results from this technology usually looks natural and smooth. Since the blood vessels and nerves are mostly left intact, recovery from this procedure is unbelievably fast.
A male patient who had his breasts reduced in the mid-afternoon, got up after two hours of recovery, told Dr. Lopez he is hungry and walked down 100 feet to the hospital cafeteria to eat. He soon came back and asked Dr. Lopez for clearance to work that night.
A female patient who had undergone an upper and lower abdominal liposuction was called by Dr. Lopez two days after the procedure to ask how she was doing. She yelled, "I am doing fine. I'm watching the Grizzly game right now. It's difficult for me to hear what you're saying. Can I call you back? Don't worry, I may totally in good shape."
ProLipo PLUS® uses ultra high-powered laser system to emit one or two laser energies (1064 nm and 1319 nm) - to heat and melt the unwanted fat into oil. The surrounding blood vessels and other structures are also collaterally heated up in the process, called coagulation, typically resulting to a tighter, firmer lasered area.
Since blood vessels and other structures are also lasered along with the unwanted fat, recovery from this procedure is longer than VASER Lipo. The plus side is that it can tighten up the saggy skin overylying the unwanted fat, potentially avoiding a more invasive tummy tuck procedure.
