The Approach

These Changes Didn't Happen Overnight

Many of us are too busy to notice the gradual changes in our appearance until one day, we suddenly realize that our reflection appears older. It's important to remember that these changes developed and worsened over many years.

Here are several techniques you can utilize to reset or reverse the signs of aging — organized from the simplest and most cost-effective options to more involved treatments that may require downtime.

Techniques

From Simple to Advanced

Sun Protection

Sun protection is not only the most cost-effective but also the ultimate and timeless method for preventing aging. This entails applying sunscreen every 2 hours while outdoors, coupled with employing physical measures like wearing sun hats and sun umbrellas. By adopting these practices early on in life, you can save significant amounts of money and time that would otherwise be spent on anti-aging treatments.

Daily Walking

Engaging in a daily walking routine of at least 10,000 steps not only enhances blood circulation throughout your entire body but also provides nourishment to specific areas such as your face, neck, and chest. By walking, you promote internal nourishment to these regions, resulting in improved blood flow and overall well-being.

Prescription Skincare: Tretinoin & Hydroquinone

If you consult with your doctor regarding skin concerns, they may recommend Tretinoin and Hydroquinone. Tretinoin is 20 times more potent than drugstore retinol — it boosts cell renewal, minimizes fine lines, discoloration, age spots, and rough patches, and stimulates new collagen production in around six months. Hydroquinone is specifically beneficial for addressing age spots and blemishes, targeting excess melanin to gradually lighten dark spots and create a more even complexion. When used under a physician's guidance, both can be valuable tools in achieving smoother, clearer, and more youthful-looking skin.

Broad Based Light (BBL) Therapy

BBL therapy is a highly effective method for restoring health and vitality to sun-damaged skin. Research conducted at Stanford University has shown that BBL can significantly improve skin texture, reduce the appearance of age spots, and even induce genetic changes that revert the skin back to a more youthful state. The procedure involves intense pulses of light that penetrate the outer layers and stimulate collagen and elastin production — leading to enhanced texture, reduction in fine lines, reduction in browns and reds, and a brighter, more even complexion. Regular sessions, spaced monthly then every three months, can lead to cumulative benefits and help maintain rejuvenated skin.

Microneedling

Microneedling creates micro-injuries in the skin to stimulate the body's natural healing response, triggering collagen and elastin production. The micro-channels also enhance absorption of platelet-rich plasma, exosomes, and topical serums applied immediately after treatment. Dr. Lopez uses the FDA-cleared Collagen P.I.N.® — a 36-needle cartridge device she finds most effective after trying many options. She particularly recommends microneedling combined with Botox for smoothing forehead wrinkles. Treatments last around 30 minutes, with positive changes often noticed 1–2 weeks after the first session. A series of 4–6 treatments spaced 3–4 weeks apart is typically recommended. Most patients experience only mild redness for a day or two.

Glacial® Rx

Glacial® Rx is the first and only CryoAesthetics™ treatment that uses precision cooling to fight inflammation and reset better skin from within. It works by downregulating inflammation, accelerating exfoliation, normalizing melanin transfer, reducing thermal injury from other treatments, and providing topical anesthetic relief. As scientific founder Dr. R. Rox Anderson explains: "What's different with cryomodulation is the level of control you can exert. It turns out, a few degrees makes a big difference in what happens." Skin sensitivities — whether mild or extreme — need to be treated from the inside out, and that is where Glacial® Rx fits in.

Dermal Fillers & PDO Thread Lifting

As we age, the fullness and plumpness we associate with youth gradually diminishes, leading to depressions and hollow areas on the face. Dermal fillers — typically made of hyaluronic acid — restore lost facial volume in areas like the cheeks and lips, giving the face a fuller, smoother look. PDO Thread Lifting addresses skin laxity by inserting medical-grade threads beneath the skin to provide a lifting effect and stimulate collagen production. By combining fillers to restore volume with PDO threads to lift and tighten, individuals can achieve even better rejuvenation results.

Microfat & Nanofat Grafting

Microfat and Nanofat Grafting are advanced fat transfer techniques that use the patient's own fat as a natural alternative to dermal fillers. Fat is harvested through gentle liposuction, then processed into microfat (injectable like fillers) and further into nanofat — which contains stem cells capable of developing into blood vessels, fibroblasts, and skin. Compared to synthetic fillers, these techniques reduce the risk of allergic reactions, offer superior longevity through newly generated collagen, and achieve a more natural look and feel.

CO2 Laser Resurfacing & Renuvion

Technologies such as CO2 laser resurfacing or Renuvion — which combines radiofrequency energy and helium plasma — are very effective in producing dramatic results. These treatments remove layers of damaged skin, creating a fresh canvas for new skin to develop. Some individuals may experience results so remarkable that they can appear up to 10 years younger just three months after undergoing treatment.

Combination Treatment

No single treatment can address all the different aspects of aging. A combination treatment approach is recommended — utilizing various techniques to address each aspect individually. For expression wrinkles, Botox or other neuromodulators relax the facial muscles. For volume loss and laxity, dermal fillers or fat grafting restore fullness while PDO threads lift and tighten. Sun damage wrinkles are addressed by chemical peels and resurfacing lasers. Skin sensitivities are treated from the inside out with Glacial® Rx. Together, these create a holistic and comprehensive rejuvenation plan.

Laser Resurfacing + Fillers + Botox

This patient had rough skin texture, volume loss, and fine lines treated over time — using laser resurfacing to smooth the skin, dermal fillers to restore fullness, and Botox to relax wrinkles. No surgery required.

Dermal Fillers — Cheeks & Under Eyes

This patient's main concern was looking tired even when she wasn't. Dermal fillers were used to restore lost volume in her cheeks and under-eye area — giving her a naturally refreshed, well-rested appearance without surgery.

Fillers + Renuvion J Plasma — Face Lift Without Surgery

This patient's concern was "my face is dropping." Dermal fillers were used to perk up her cheeks and restore youthful volume, while Renuvion J Plasma tightened her jawline and neck — all without a single surgical incision.

CO2 Laser — Eyelid Tightening & Festoon Removal

Her kids thought she looked sad or depressed — but it was her hooded eyelids and the puffiness under her eyes (called festoons) giving that impression. CO2 laser resurfacing was used to tighten her eyelids and smooth away the festoons, revealing bright, open, rested-looking eyes. No surgery needed.

My goal is never to make you look like someone else — it's to help you look like the best, most rested version of yourself.
